The auction of risk
If you follow the auctions in Japan, especially Narita, the breeders have a certain starting price, which is quite low. At Narita, the auction starting price is 10,000 yen, which currently corresponds to around 65 euros. The rate is currently quite favorable. A year ago this would have been 80 euros. Now this entails a great risk, since only 1 person bids, and then you are far below the value of the koi. However, they can rest easy, because the bid prices in Japan are skyrocketing...unfortunately for us, but you have to remember that the whole world is involved at this moment. That is why my starting bid prices are cautious. However, this means that quite a few customers drop out before the auction starts. That's a shame, because the koi on offer are more than worth it. That is why I am now going to take the risk to start my offer of 11 koi with a bottom price of 70 euros. In my opinion the value is between 395 and 795 euros, depending on the koi of course. However, I am going to take the risk, but due to a limited supply, I also limit the risk. The koi were set aside today and the videos were also made today. (4 October) I only took 1 photo of my offer regarding the koi and provided it with a number. You'll have to watch the video to see the koi associated with the song. Michael from Interkoi Germany has asked to also use 15 koi in this auction. However, he won't follow the same strategy. I am already putting the auction online and am still waiting for information from Michael regarding his conditions. I would like to enforce that the koi must be collected at the same time on October 14th. Or let us meet between October 14 and 22 at the latest. He can bring this with him when he brings the koi that were sold in the previous auction next week, and I will discuss the conditions regarding transport.
